Rachel aims to keep pottery classes interesting and introduces new techniques regularly. She began running  ‘Pit Firing’ sessions as people on her classes were interested in the history of clay. ‘Pit Firing’ is a way of firing clay that dates back to neolithic times.

“You can have great fun firing clay as our ancestors did… digging the pit, filling it with sawdust and organic materials, placing your pots in the pit then setting fire to it. No doubt you’ll have worked up an appetite, so the day is finished with cheese and biscuits along with a drop of something nice!”
